When my husband and I immigrated from Taiwan to the U.S. in 1982, the “American Dream” soon became a heavy yoke. Financial burdens, language barriers, and the pressure of raising two boys on a tight budget brought my marriage and my spirit to a breaking point.

In my darkest moments, Christ became my shelter. I poured out my heart in daily prayer, turning my tears, cries and sorrows into handwritten scriptural calligraphy. These pieces are more than art; they are the treasures of my spiritual journey, reminding me of God’s absolute faithfulness. I still hang them on my walls today as my daily Bread of Life.

Living out a Christian faith in today’s world means navigating a constant storm of pressures—whether it’s the stress of a demanding job, the tight squeeze of inflation on your finances, an unexpected health trial, or the delicate work of managing relationships. Yet, Jesus provides the ultimate anchor for these very real struggles in John 16:33: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” This promise doesn’t minimize our daily hardships; rather, it shifts our perspective entirely. We don’t have to face the compounding anxieties of modern life in our own strength, nor do we have to despair when things feel overwhelmed. Instead, we can experience a deep, steady peace right in the middle of the chaos, because the ultimate victory has already been won. Facing the world with this truth allows us to meet every challenge not with fear or defeat, but with a resilient joy and courage, knowing that the One who holds our future has already overcome it all.

A Psalm of David.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

“Many years ago, I was a young mom in a very dark place. We were facing a financial disaster. My young boys were energetic and tough to discipline. My husband was completely stressed out, working his full-time job. I felt totally hopeless.

In the middle of that chaos, I knew I needed to make a change. I wanted to be a 24/7 stay-at-home mom, but we desperately needed income. So, I started teaching myself computer applications, preparing to build a home business from scratch. But doing it alone? It felt impossible.

All I could do was rely on Christ’s love and mercy to show me the way.

During my quiet devotional hours, by faith, the Holy Spirit gave me three specific verses. I picked up my brush, wrote them down in Chinese calligraphy, and taped them to the wall right above my computer desk.

Those three pieces of calligraphy have been on my wall for over thirty years. Day and night, they lifted my faith. When the world felt too overwhelming to carry on, those words told me: keep going, never give up. And the Holy Spirit did the amazing work—providing, healing, and bandaging every broken piece of our lives.

• Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth. – Psalms 83:10

• Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. – Isaiah 38:17

• For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land. – Jeremiah 1:18

If you are a young mother today, and the world feels too heavy to carry, I want to encourage you: Never give up. As long as your heart is for your children, your family, and your marriage, you are not alone. Look at these God’s words on my home office wall—let them lift your faith everyday, just like they lifted mine. These Calligraphy are my daily bread filling me up my spirit and my strength to keep going. Blessings !

How I survived the craziest season of my life. 🤍

Back when I was a young mom, I was drowning in the hustle: running a home business startup, trying to upgrade my skills, learning new tech on the fly, and staring down heavy debt. It was the ultimate multitasking challenge.

But in the middle of the chaos, this is exactly how I prayed for my little boys, my husband, and our future—asking the Lord to lead, guide, provide, and protect us through it all.

Psalms 97:3

A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

Jeremiah 31:16-17

¹⁶ Thus saith the Lord; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

¹⁷ And there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord, that thy children shall come again to their own border.

When the stress got to be too much, my precious Lord stepped in. He inspired me with powerful scripture that cooled my anxious heart. His Word became my weapon as I lifted up my husband and my little boys, trusting Him to lead, guide, provide, and protect us.
