About Me

Wally & Sophia (Husband and Wife)

My story began in 1975, when my husband and I met as college sweethearts in Taiwan.
In 1982, we immigrated to the United States, carrying our dreams, our hope, and our native Traditional Chinese language both in Mandarin and Taiwanese to a completely new land. Like many, we pursued the classic “American Dream,” but we soon found it to be a heavy yoke.
Between financial burdens, cultural conflicts, and a daunting language barrier, the pressure was immense. Raising our two boys in a new country on a limited income, the weight of motherhood and life often felt unbearable. Our marriage reached a breaking point many times, and for years, I felt trapped in a dark shadow of despair.
But God’s mercy is greater than our deepest struggles.
In 1991, everything changed when my husband and I surrendered our lives to Christ. After decades of making our own mistakes, we were beautifully found by God’s grace. Over the last 35 years, we have tasted His unwavering faithfulness, His perfect timing, and His supernatural provision. We have watched His wisdom rebuild what was once completely broken. Today, our marriage and our lives stand as a living witness to the power of the Cross and the redeeming salvation of Jesus Christ.
My heart for ministry was born out of the profound tragedies I witnessed within my own social circle, where three young mothers tragically lost their lives to suicide. They desperately needed help but had no access to the Light, living instead in the shadows of hidden pain. Seeing their children grow up in the wake of such heartbreak ignited a fire within me. I became deeply dedicated to encourage other young mothers grow strong in the Lord, Only Jesus Christ walking alongside women so they never have to face the darkness alone.
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'” — John 14:6
“Alongside my ministry, I am passionate about sharing the vibrant beauty of my heritage. I created a series of free resources called ‘Learn Mandarin Chinese Fun,’ which uses stroke-writing animations and traditional brush calligraphy to teach Chinese characters (in both Traditional and Simplified scripts). By using Bible scriptures, hymns, and folk songs, these videos combine a love for language with a love for God. Because He is a living God, my devotion to Him is a creative journey, and I spend many of my devotional hours writing brush calligraphy. Please feel free to explore these resources and view my calligraphy work.”
“Time flies like a shuttle, and aging is an undeniable reality. In 2026, Wally is 76 and Sophia is 70. As the years weave quickly by, we look at the tapestry of our lives and see the masterful hand of God.” We find our spirits renewed daily by His grace. Our physical bodies may age, but our purpose remains vibrant. We spend our days anchored in the Word of a living God, worshiping Him through ministry and encouraging alongside those who need His light. We choose to redeem the time, transforming our senior years into a living witness of the power of the Cross and the joy of Jesus Christ.”
Blessings !!
